Sewing Question and Answers | What is over Bust ,Under Bust | How to make perfect Size from Pattern
after i have transferd my pattern to fabric ,why do i end up with a bigger outfit than the original measurements.?
what is the importance of measureing the under bust and overbust?
i am a beginner.
these question are really very good questions specially beginners point of view because every beginer deal with it.thanks dear for asking this.
actually i belive cutting is more important part than sewing and so spend more time on cutting part than jump to sewing i know beginers are excited to start sewing that feel more fun part to them but a perfectly cut dress only can b turn into a perfectly stitched dress. and even before cutting the preparing of fabric is more important to cut the fabric.so make sure first thing that your fabric is properly pressed ,when i say pressed i mean you have to do iron in a way that it should press the fabric not just iron.

second thing is proper pin up your fabric if your fabric is not proper pin up you will end up in a wrong size.
third thing is when you place your pattern on fabric also pin up it properly all the way.
then forth thing is marking ,mark properly ,this is a big big reason why u end up in bigger size because as a beginner u dnt mind one cm difference mark but imagine you are marking on forth part so one cm difference become 4 cm u got it ,and even half cm difference end up in 2 cm tht means almost one inch so if you are working with a fitted dress one inch is so much to make your size bigger.
5th thing is use proper marking tools if you are not comfortable with tailoring chlks as a beginner use marking pencils, you can even use you color pencils if you cant  find the tailorng pencils.
and use proper scale to mark the stright lines and curve lines ,dnt do free hand i know if you are a good free hand artist thats very good you can use your this skill later on advance level but as a beginner use proper scale.
